THE ANSWER

THE ANSWER

Am I living, am I dreaming,
Among the gone, among the sleeping?
Yesterday is crawling around may chest.

Am I today, am I tomorrow,
Among the blue, among the mourning?
Yesterday is knocking on my very head.

Am I fading, am I growing,
Amid the now, amid the mirrors?
Yesterday is asking: Have I ever been?

And there’s the answer:
Have I been or am I now?
The sea of clouds will wash away
all my doubts.
All my castles in the sand
Wash away my dreamlit strand,
Wash away my yesterland
from my yester’s hand.

And yesterday is asking again:
Am I living, am I dreaming,
Beyond the day, beyond the border.
Yesterday is far away
Or has never been.
